This presentation will cover the key steps to take to ensure compliance, what to do to avoid technical violations and prevent litigation. We will also touch on recent lawsuits by the EEOC and the steps you can take to avoid discrimination in your hiring process. Finally we will take a look at various local laws in CT, RI, and MA .
John McTighe is the Executive Vice President of Data Facts, a national background screening firm. John attributes his success over the past 25 years to his understanding that customers need more than just raw data to make effective business decisions. In addition to accurate information, he has focused on surrounding customers with intuitive technology, compliance tools, and the expertise of knowledgeable staff. Additional specialties include developing go-to-market strategies, new business development, and improving operational efficiencies. He is a Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
McTighe is also an active member of several industry associations including the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS), the National Consumer Reporting Association (NCRA), and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). He is a frequent speaker on the background screening industry and screening best practices at human resources events around the country. John proudly holds an Advanced FCRA certification from the National Association of Professional Background Screeners.
