Session Description

Employers in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island all must be prepared to offer paid family and medical leave benefits under new laws. Learn about how your organization can prepare to take action to implement these mandatory benefits for employees. Attendees will learn about the different requirements in each state and gain insight into how to resolve conflicts between these new laws and existing benefits offerings.


 

Britt-Marie Cole-Johnson

Ms. Cole-Johnson counsels boards of directors, senior management, and human resources professionals in all areas of employment law, with a focus on sensitive, high-risk personnel issues, investigations, compliance, training, and U.S. market-entry initiatives for international corporations. She routinely advises private sector employers, ranging from Fortune 500 and NYSE companies, nonprofit organizations, and educational institutions to manufacturers, financial services firms, and federal contractors. Ms. Cole-Johnson is a trained workplace investigator and also represents employers in litigation. As a trusted advisor, she regularly counsels board chairs and C-Suite executives on C-Suite/director transitions, the executive search/selection process, investigations, and board and committee training.

Abby Warren

Ms. Warren counsels clients, including multinational corporations, private equity firms educational institutions, manufacturers, and non-profits, on employment law an workplace human resource issues, including personnel issues and compliance. She also defends clients in state and federal court litigation matters as well as before state and federal agencies. Ms. Warren represents federal contractors in their compliance efforts, including with regard to affirmative action plans and audits. She is a trained workplace investigator and conducts, manages and provides advice regarding workplace investigations. Ms. Warren conducts trainings and presents on topics such as sexual harassment, workplace investigations, and discrimination.
